Engine Knock Sensor
Amaxi Autosport knock sensor kits are designed to take advantage of the built in sophisticated knock detection systems in many modern standalone ECUs. Until recently, most knock sensors were designed to target a preset frequency which creates an inability for the sensor to determine the difference between knock and engine noises. With modern day signal processing and wideband sensors, Standalone ECUs are able to process the signal in its full frequency range and thereby are able to determine sounds that actually represent engine knocking. The ECU is able to filter the signal by crank angle and therefore only will look for signals at engine positions where knock is most likely to occur.
The use of Amaxi’s wideband knock sensor setup allows for greater sensitivity to knock and greater control of the engine. It allows the tuner to maximize power output with the confidence that the ECU will employ engine protection strategies when knock is detected.
Each kit includes a new genuine Bosch knock sensor, 316L Stainless Steel mounting stud, Nylock nut and electrical connector with extra terminals and seals.
Flat response knock sensors can be used on virtually any engine, please check thread diameter and pitch before ordering in order to ensure fit to your vehicle.
